Gerhard Steenkamp is the founder member of Superimage Media CC (CK  88/26567/23) and also the chief photographer. He started taking action photos in 1984 and since then his work has been widely published in all the major magazines and newspapers in South Africa. These Magazines and Papers includes; Rugby International, SA Rugby, SA Sports Illustrated, Runners World, Kick Off, Rugby News(UK), SA Cricket, SA Gymnast and papers like, Rapport, Sunday Times, Sunday Argus, Daily Voice, Volksblad, Sondag etc. Recently a lot of his work had also been published in the United Kingdom,Belgium,France,Australia and New Zealand.

At the moment Gerhard specializes in Swimming, Soccer and Rugby  but also got interests in other sports seen that he has studied physical training in the early eighties. This knowledge of various sports has come to his benefit many times over the years.

At the moment he is using Nikon D4 cameras and Nikon lenses that vary from a 10.5mm up to a 600mm F4 lens. Recent Major events covered by Gerhard were;
